Everyone deserves a fair shake.  Better yet, add a great burger, some fries and a little vanilla to that shake and I’m all over it.  But maybe you don’t agree…  Just what DID you have in mind?  This is the place to let it all out!  Tell us what you liked, what tasted great, what didn’t quite meet your expectations.

As you may have ascertained from the category heading, this is where you tell us about your RESTAURANT experiences.  For those of you who don’t get out much, a restaurant is a place where other people cook your food, then clean up after you, usually for a fee.  If you’re into that sort of thing, TELL US about it!  We REALLY want to know.  You can also read recommendations from other users in the Food and Dining blog. Click the comments button below to add a sentence or two.  Or three.

  1. i think bostons is more west of krispy kreme isnt it? there r some stores behind it but bostons is up on college or that frontage road. yeah been there thought it was pretty good. for pizza i like sammy’s on richmond and stucs on college. anyone been to pb loco yet? my girlfriends been begging me to go there but im scared of peanut butter with things like sun dried tomatos in it.

  2. Tried PB Loco for lunch a couple of weeks ago. It is a healthy alternative to the usual lunch spots and the food is fresh. Kids would probably like it although it was just business people when I was there.

  3. Lisa, when your folks come to visit take them to The Prime Steer Supper Club in Kaukauna. It is not the most modern place but the food is great and you won’t find a better steak in the Valley.

  4. Went to Main Event Steakhouse in Little Chute last week. Food was excellent, service was great.

  5. I heard Grillin’ Steakhouse is good…can’t find an online menu though. Are they still in business?

  6. Went to Spats last weekend with friends. Food was good, great atmosphere. Not somewhere I would have thought of before but I will definitely try it again.

  7. Lisa K. a great place for a steak is Mer & Jackie’s Supper Club - they have been around forever - since the 50’s - out of town a little ways - but worth the drive.

  8. anyone recommend a family owned supper club that is good, but not an arm and a leg?

  9. On Monday I went to Cafe on the Ave for breakfast. It’s in downtown Appleton. Good food. I got a Belgium Waffle and my son got the breakfast buritto. He liked it a lot. It was very busy. Probably from the Memorial Day parade, but the service was great. It took a little while to get our food, but again, probably because how busy it had gotten. For a breakfast place, I would say it’s worth checking out.

  10. i went to dick and joan’s for dinner the other night. the food was fantastic and the the servie was great. the steak if fabulous, and the price is good.

  11. Met someone for drinks and appetizers at Spats last week. Never been there before but plan on going back. Nice people, great food. Highly recommend it.

  12. If you haven’t been to Boston’s yet on college ave (behind where rich’s/krispy kreme used to be) you might check ou their pizza. pretty good stuff and the bar has a decent selection as well.

  13. I’m new to the area and my parents are coming to visit. I want to take them out to dinner. Any suggestions on where I can get a really great steak around here?

  14. I went to Boston’s with a group of people. It was really good overall. But, we got a “team platter” for the appetizer - it seemed like a lot of dough. The pizza was amazing. You get a ton of toppings. The service was great. Our waitress was really nice and always checked in to see is we needed anything. We also didn’t have to wait forever to get our food.

  15. last sunday our family went to high cliff for their brunch. WOW we sure got our moneys worth. Everything was delicious. The only thing I was expecting but didn’t see was a meat carving station. Other than that, it was a great brunch with the family - no disappointments

  16. Have you ever had the gourmet meals made for dinner theater at Perfect Presentations in Neenah, WI. Culinary Chef R.C. Schroeder from Big Tomatoes downtown Neenah prepares 90% of the food and it’s awesome! If cheesecake is your one vice—they always have it for sale during intermission—the Chocolate Amaretto is my favorite. Be sure and book an evening at Perfect Presentations behind Copps in Neenah—you’ll be glad you did!
